Ingredients

Instructions

  • Prepare your fresh rutabagas, your preferred oil, and salt and pepper. With regards to herbs, you can use your favorite. I have picked sweet paprika powder because of its flavor and color. At the same time, preheat the oven to 220 Celsius or 425 Fahrenheit.
  • Start by thoroughly washing and cleaning the rutabaga using cold water to remove all dirt and debris. Cut off the top and bottom parts. Make sure it's stable and won't tip over. Use a sharp knife or vegetable peeler to slice off the skin of the rutabaga. Make sure to remove all the skin.
  • Once the skin is removed, slice the rutabaga into thin slices. About 1/4 inch thickness, and then stack them up and cut them into fries.
  • Add the rutabaga fries into a mixing bowl. Toss the fries with some vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt and any other seasonings you'd like. I have used sweet paprika powder, an excellent mixture here.
  • Spread the fries onto a baking sheet and bake at 220 Celsius or 425°F for 20-25 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
