This cheesy baked broccoli is a simple oven side dish that turns tender florets into a comforting favorite. Melted cheddar creates a golden finish while keeping every bite flavorful and satisfying.
Preheat the oven to 375°Fahrenheit (190°Celsius) and lightly grease a square baking dish. Steam the broccoli until just tender and gather the cheddar and cream of mushroom soup.
Place the broccoli in a large bowl and mix with the cream of mushroom soup and shredded cheddar until evenly coated.
Fold gently so the cheese is distributed without crushing the broccoli, ensuring an even mixture.
Transfer to the baking dish, smooth the top, and bake for 20–25 minutes until hot and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use fresh broccoli florets for the best texture. Frozen broccoli can work, but it may release extra water and make the bake less crispy.
Don’t skip preheating the oven. A hot oven helps the cheese melt evenly, and the broccoli gets that nice golden brown on top.
Add breadcrumbs or panko for extra crunch. Mixing them with a little melted butter before sprinkling on top gives a crispy, golden finish.
Season generously with salt and pepper. Cheese adds flavor, but a little extra seasoning makes each bite pop.
