Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Water
  • 1 Cup Fruits

Instructions

  • Wash and slice your fresh fruits, and if you are using herbs, give them a gentle crush to release their flavors. This will make the dish more fruity and refreshing. Leave the fruit at room temperature before adding its flavors to the water. If you are planning on making mint-infused water, prepare your fresh mint leaves.
  • Mix and match fruits and herbs to create the fruit flavor you want. It can be citrusy with a hint of mint or basil. The choice is yours.
  • Add your chosen fruits and herbs to a pitcher or directly into your glass. Add a good amount of your fruits, especially berries, since it is better to put many. Optionally, mix your fruits and herbs first for a more intense fruity flavor. Now, you can add your ice cubes to make it a more refreshing and visually appealing drink. Pour the water and give a gentle stir to mix everything. Let it sit for a few minutes to let the flavors infuse into the water.

Notes

  • Reuse ingredients - some fruits and herbs can be used for multiple infusions, so after making a batch of infused water, see if you can still get a second use out of them. I usually refill the same pitcher with extra fresh water.
  • Do not over-infuse - be cautious not to over-infuse, especially with solid herbs like mint leaves, as it can lead to a bitter taste.
  • Use fresh fruits - choose fresh, ripe fruits and herbs for the best flavor and results.
