How To Make Fruit Infusion Water

Water is a necessity for our everyday lives, and adding a fruity twist to it is easy as a summer breeze. Here, I will show you the process of making infused water using different kinds of fruits for a hint of flavor but no added sugar.

Kitchen Gadgets:

  • Glass Pitcher – needed for mixing your water choice.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Fruits – opt for your favorite fresh fruits. Use organic berries, citrus slices (lemon or lime), and melons, which also work.
  • Herbs (optional) – add a touch of fresh herbs like mint leaves or basil to your drink.
  • Ice cubes – this is essential for that extra chill factor. Use regular ice cubes or get fancy with frozen fruit cubes for a decorative touch.
  • Water – the star of the show. Go for filtered or sparkling water for a bit of fizz.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR FRUIT-INFUSED WATER RECIPE

First Step: Gather All Ingredients

Wash and slice your fresh fruits, and if you are using herbs, give them a gentle crush to release their flavors. This will make the dish more fruity and refreshing.

Leave the fruit at room temperature before adding its flavors to the water. If you are planning on making mint-infused water, prepare your fresh mint leaves.

Second Step: Choose Your Fruit Combination

Mix and match fruits and herbs to create the fruit flavor you want. It can be citrusy with a hint of mint or basil. The choice is yours.

Third Step: Prepare Your Pitcher Or Glass Water And Infuse

Add your chosen fruits and herbs to a pitcher or directly into your glass. Add a good amount of your fruits, especially berries, since it is better to put many.

Optionally, mix your fruits and herbs first for a more intense fruity flavor.

Now, you can add your ice cubes to make it a more refreshing and visually appealing drink. Pour the water and give a gentle stir to mix everything. Let it sit for a few minutes to let the flavors infuse into the water.

TRICKS AND TIPS:

  • Reuse ingredients – some fruits and herbs can be used for multiple infusions, so after making a batch of infused water, see if you can still get a second use out of them. I usually refill the same pitcher with extra fresh water.
  • Do not over-infuse – be cautious not to over-infuse, especially with solid herbs like mint leaves, as it can lead to a bitter taste.
  • Use fresh fruits – choose fresh, ripe fruits and herbs for the best flavor and results.
