Strawberry Recipes

Who does not love strawberries?

We have them in the house most of the time during the season. And if out of season, my pantry is filled with frozen pieces and dried strawberry chips in mason jars.

They are the best addition to your desserts when you need just a bit of extra flavor, color, or taste.

Whenever needed, like in our strawberry cake instance, I can always take a few dehydrated strawberries, blend them in a Magic Bullet and have a perfect powder to decorate.

Strawberries are a perfect addition to our clean eating lifestyle, and today’s recipe is just another lever of how you can enjoy them.

What Is The Best White Chocolate For Dipping Strawberries?

White chocolate is an excellent choice for coating and adding sweetness to your favorite fruits. While there are many brands of white chocolate out there, some are better than others regarding the ideal texture and flavor for dipping strawberries. Look for white semisweet chocolate with a creamy texture and smooth finish.

A good quality white chocolate will melt easily when tempered and set quickly when cooled, so you can get back to enjoying your dipped strawberries in no time.

Whether you make white chocolate or get a high-quality brand depends on you. The better the quality of your chocolate, the tastier your today’s recipe will be.

How To Make White Chocolate?

When deciding to make your chocolate, I have a quick guide. I have made it several times, and believe me. I will never buy chocolate bars or chocolate chips again.

You only need a good silicone form for chocolate bars or small dots for chips.

A bag of cocoa butter will last you for a long time, and allulose is the best sweetener for making it home, as it adds the creaminess you need.

Melt cacao butter over a double boiler and add milk powder and allulose. Add a dash of vanilla extract if you wish, and ensure all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Then, you must pour your mixture into the silicone forms and place it into the fridge overnight. That is. Super easy.

How To Melt Chocolate?

Melting your chocolate for dipping can be done in various ways:

You can pick my recipe, where chocolate is melted over the double boiler method, and coconut oil is added.

The second option is a microwave. You can gently heat your chocolate and add the coconut oil later.

One thing you should not do is cook the chocolate. It is very delicate, and your chocolate can burn at the bottom if you are not using a double boiler.

Best Way To Dip Strawberries?

You might not need any equipment if you have fresh strawberries with solid stems. All you have to do is hold the strawberry on its stem and dip it.

But if you are still determining if the stems or leaves will hold, I have one great tip for you.

Pic BBQ sticks. Break it into a few pieces and stick it to the strawberries. It holds super strong, and you will not worry about strawberries falling into the chocolate glass.

Holiday Ideas with White Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

Compared to dark chocolate, white is easy to color to perfection depending on the occasion or holidays.

Few ideas:

Easter White Chocolate Strawberries

Once your chocolate is melted and ready for dipping, split it into two or three glasses and add a bit of natural coloring. Mix it well and dip your strawberries. This will result in beautiful rainbow colors, perfect for Easter celebrations or baby showers.

Some of the natural colorings could be:

Blueberry juice, matcha tea, blue spirulina, cranberry powder, turmeric, hibiscus tea, beetroot, or saffron.

4th of July Chocolate Covered Strawberries

For the 4th of July, you only need two extra colors.

White, you already have from chocolate. Add blue spirulina into a second bowl and strawberry or cherry powder into a third. Depending on the amount of natural coloring you add, the lighter or deeper in color your chocolate will become.

Pink Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Pink color would be best to achieve with either a little strawberry powder or raspberry powder.

Toppings For Chocolate Covered Strawberries?

As you see, I have used strawberry powder and the same chocolate for the toppings.

Some additional ideas could be:

  • Crushed nuts
  • Coconut shreds
  • Decorate with sprinkles made from coconut
  • Melted dark chocolate

FULL INSTRUCTIONS WITH STEPS TO MAKE WHITE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

First Step: Prepare Ingredients

Prepare all your ingredients.

Pick the best quality chocolate you can find. White chocolate candy melts the fastest. If you have a whole bar, break that into smaller pieces so that the chocolate will melt faster.

Strawberries should be firm and without any damage. Rinse strawberries properly, pat dry with paper towel, and place into your fridge to cool.

Second Step: Melt Chocolate

Starting with a double boiler, add your chocolate in and let it melt. I usually use a chopstick to mix the chocolate while melting.

Once it is almost melted, add coconut oil and let it all combine.

Coconut oil helps the chocolate coating become thin.

Once the chocolate is completely melted and smooth, switch your heat off and let the sauce cool to room temperature but still liquid enough.

Third Step: Dip and Cool

Prepare a board onto which you will be placing your dipped strawberries. It is best to cover that board with cling film. You can also use a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.

Take your strawberry out of the fridge and prepare a glass you will be dipping them.

The glass should not be too broad. Otherwise, you might need a lot of chocolate. Make sure that it is wide enough to be able to dip your strawberries in.

Take your bowl of melted chocolate and pour it into the glass and start dipping your strawberries one by one.

Hold the strawberry by the green tops and dip the strawberry into the melted white chocolate up to 3/4. Twist, make sure all sides are covered, and slowly take out.

Let the remaining chocolate drip back into the glass and gently place it onto your board.

Once finished, place your board into the fridge for the chocolate to harden.

Store the remaining chocolate for later.

Fourth Step: Strawberry Powder

As you see, I have used strawberry powder as one option for topping. The powder is made out of dehydrated fresh strawberries. The magic bullet will blend them into a smooth powder in seconds. Place that onto the sieve and sprinkle on some of your strawberries if you wish.

Fifth Step: Design

If you wish to make a line like design, take your strawberry out of the fridge once cooled.

Melt the white chocolate again over a double boiler or microwave for 20 seconds.

Let it cool to room temperature, but still liquid.

Place into the piping bag and cut the tip off.

As the video shows, start designing your strawberries by drizzling melted white chocolate on top of your berries.

Tips To Make The Best Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

  • Dipping glass – tall but not too wide. Otherwise, you will need lots of chocolate.
  • Refrigerate – cool your strawberries before dipping them.
  • Strawberry dipping – a BBQ stick in strawberries helps in dipping.
  • Design – make sure the chocolate covered strawberries are thoroughly cooled.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I Use White Chocolate Chips?

You can use chocolate bars, white chocolate candy, or chips. The most important is that they are fully melted before dipping starts.

Should Strawberries Be Cold Before Dipping In Chocolate?

The strawberries must be cold before they are dipped in white chocolate. This will ensure that the chocolate hardens appropriately, creating a smooth and even surface on each strawberry. Cold strawberries help to prevent the chocolate from becoming too runny or melting off of the strawberry as soon as it’s dipped.

How Do You Get Chocolate To Stick To Strawberries?

Two main components must be met for your chocolate to stick to strawberries. First, they need to be appropriately cooled and, second, dried. If your strawberries are wet or warm, the chocolate will not stick.

How To Store Chocolate Strawberries?

Once thoroughly cooled, it is best eaten the same day. If you have some leftovers, store in an airtight container for 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator, depending on the freshness of your strawberries.

Can I Use White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries as Edible Gifts?

Great idea to make and pack those juicy strawberries together with few dark chocolate almonds or chocolate almond clusters as a gift for your loved ones. As you see on the pictures, you can even decorate them with remaining chocolate on top.

Once you let them dry completely gently pack them into a nice basket or a bag and gift them on the same day.

Can You Freeze White Chocolate Strawberries?

No, I don’t suggest freezing strawberries covered with chocolate. It is not about the chocolate itself. That is freezable. But once you take out your strawberries, they will thaw and become very mushy.

Other Sweet Treats Recipes:

One recipe you have to make are those gluten free spice cookies. I usually have few pieces with my coffee on a daily basis.
