Is It The Same As Roasted Cabbage Steaks Recipe?

Baked and roasted cabbage steaks are the same thing. Both involve slicing cabbage into thick steaks, seasoning, and cooking until crispy and tender. Whether you say “baked” or “roasted,” the method and results are identical.

How Do I Cut Cabbage For Cabbage Steaks?

Remove any bad outer leaves, then place the cabbage on a cutting board. Cut it down the middle into thick slices, about an inch each. Make sure to keep the core intact so the steaks hold together. If the cabbage is a bit shaky, you can trim the bottom to keep it steady.

How To Make Baked Cabbage Steaks Recipe

Kitchen Gadgets:

  • Air Fryer: Use for baking the green cabbage steaks.
  • Whisk: Instead of using a spoon, use a whisk to combine all the spices and seasonings. Makes it easier.
  • Kitchen Brush: This will season the cabbages before baking them.

Ingredients:

  • Cabbage Head: Look for a medium-sized head of cabbage at your local grocery store or farmer’s market. Choose one that feels heavy for its size and has crisp, tightly packed leaves. Red cabbage is also okay.
  • Onion Powder: This gluten-free ingredient will add a sweet and savory taste to the cabbage. Use onion flakes to make a homemade one.
  • Oil: You can use olive oil or vegetable oil for this recipe.
  • Granulated Garlic: Use granulated garlic to add savory flavor to the spice mix. You can also use garlic powder or fresh minced garlic if you do not have one available.
  • Salt and Black Pepper: These basic spices will help the overall flavor of the baked cabbages.
  • Paprika: For a bit of spice and smoky flavor to the seasoning mixture, add some paprika spice.
