Why You Will Love This Recipe

This gluten-free green bean casserole is a healthier alternative to traditional recipes, using fresh, whole ingredients instead of processed ones. You can easily customize and pair it with air-fried chicken, rice cauliflower recipes or grilled stuffed bell peppers, making it more delicious and suited to your preferences.

Plus, it’s the perfect side dish for holidays and special occasions, a classic choice like eggs and feta casserole that’s both tasty and satisfying for everyone.

The Best Side Dish

I’ve made a lot of side dishes in my life as a mom and the family cook, and I have to say, this one is up there as one of the best. Even my kids, who aren’t big on green beans, love it now because it’s mixed with their favorite mushroom soup and crunchy fried onions.

If you make this for the holidays or Thanksgiving, don’t be surprised when your kids and guests keep coming back for more. You might want to make a big batch because it’ll be gone before you know it.

3 Ingredients For This GF Green Bean Casserole:

Fresh Green Beans

Green beans are the base of this recipe as it is the name of the dish. In this recipe, you will need some fresh, green, and crispy beans to perfect this dish. If you are someone who does not eat green beans, I am telling you, this recipe will change your mind.

Gluten-Free French Fried Onions

Our gluten-free crispy onions are important for this recipe as they add additional crunchiness to the whole dish. I love the idea that I made my own homemade crispy fried onions recipe only for snacks, but I ended up using the rest of it to top my green bean casserole, and IT LEVELED UP!

Mushroom Soup

Mushroom soup will serve as the creamy base of the casserole mixed with the crispy green beans. Some recipes require using gluten-free flours and thickening agents but the good thing about having a homemade cream of mushroom soup is that you do not need to worry about those ingredients.

How To Make Gluten Free Green Bean Casserole Recipe

Take a step on making this casserole recipe by following the detailed instructions I prepared for you.

Do not forget to check the video for a straightforward process on how to make the casserole.

Kitchen Gadgets:

  • Casserole Dish: A simple casserole dish will be used for baking the green bean casserole in the oven. Choose a size that comfortably fits all the ingredients without overflowing.
  • Glass Bowl: A large mixing bowl is perfect for combining the cream of mushroom soup, fried onions, and green beans.
  • Spoon or Spatula: Use a spoon or spatula to mix the ingredients in the glass bowl thoroughly. It will also help you evenly coat the green beans with the creamy mushroom soup mixture in the casserole dish.

Ingredients:

  • Green Beans: Fresh or frozen green beans will work perfectly for this dish. Look for crisp, vibrant green beans in the grocery store. If fresh is not available, frozen green beans are a good substitute. Using canned green beans is the last option.
  • Mushroom Soup: Look for a gluten-free cream of mushroom soup or use mushroom sauce. But if you prefer using a homemade cream of mushroom soup, it is perfect.
  • Fried Onions: Gluten-free fried onions add a delicious crunch and flavor to the top of the green bean casserole.
